About Sweetgrass Healing
Joanna Karaoulis, the heart of Sweetgrass Healing, brings over 20 years of experience in acupuncture, massage therapy, and Reiki. Beginning her journey in Nepal with Reiki training, she has continuously expanded her expertise, embracing Shiatsu, craniosacral therapy, and Chinese medicine. Licensed in acupuncture and enriched by her deep belief in the body’s self-healing power, Joanna crafts personalized treatments to balance energy systems and promote well-being.

I remember this sentence from my Zen Shiatsu class in 2002. It has guided my intention through every energy and bodywork session I have given since that day.
Acupuncture treatments use needles, and sometimes cupping or qua sha techniques, to free up the flow of qi throughout the body. Acupuncture reminds the energy channels how they can function in harmony.
Craniosacral therapy uses extremely light-pressure myofacial and traction techniques to gently move the tissues and bones, allowing the nerves, cerebrospinal fluid, and qi to move more freely, while at the same time adding qi into the system.
Reiki offers Heavenly qi to a recipient’s energy field and physical body, giving a qi-boost and helping to wash away blockages.
Massage releases stuck qi that is held in tight muscles and joints, thereby freeing up the body’s qi.
